The first extraordinary general meeting of FECAFOOT was held on 11 January 1959 in Yaoundé. The Cameroon Football League was dissolved; it was the birth of the Cameroonian Football Federation that was under the direct control of the deputy prime minister responsible for education. The first president of FECAFOOT was Mr. Ngankou Amos. The federation was affiliated with FIFA in 1962 and with the FCA in 1963.
